Questions on the textbook article "Computers and
Privacy" by Stacey Edgar
- How do you define privacy? Do you agree that privacy is important
for a healthy development of a human being? Do you think that an
individual has a right to privacy?
- The article gives examples of people's privacy violated with help
of modern computer technology, it also gives a list of laws and
regulations related to privacy. These examples mostly refer to
beginning of the 1990th. What has changed since then? Can you give any
new examples and/or regulations (find articles and sources, if
possible)? How does the Internet change the situation (if at all)?
Is there more privacy or more surveillance now, compared to 10 years
ago?
