CSci 1301: Problem Set 3

Paper-and-pencil exercises

You may submit those in class on paper or as a file attached to your electronic submission by 11:59pm. Please don't share google docs with me: if you are writing your solution as a google doc, please export it as a pdf and attach to your email.

Please read the corresponding sections of the textbook and then do the following exercises:

• 116 (3 points),
• 117 (3 points),
• 118 (3 points),
• 119 (2 points),
• 120 (3 points),
• 122 (9 points),
• 125 (3 points).

Programming exercises

Read section 8 and the beginning of section 9 in the textbook and then do the following exercises. Make sure to write a signature, a description, and at least 3 check-expects for each function.

• 139 (3 points)
• 140 (5 points; you need to submit both functions)
• 141 (3 points). The name cat stands for string concatenation, and not a furry animal.
