Jong-Min Kim received his Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University in Statistics in the May, 2002. He joined University of Minnesota at Morris in the August, 2002. He also joined University of Minnesota Data Science Initiative Core Member in the May, 2024.
Jong-Min Kim is Editor in Chief of Measurement: Interdisciplinary Research and Perspectives (Q2, Scopus, Emerging SCI, 2022 Impact Factor: 1.0 and Taylor & Francis Publisher). (Accepted the role, 03/09/2023).
Jong-Min Kim is Book Reviews Co-Editor of Journal of Applied Statistics (Q2, SCIE, 2022 Impact Factor: 1.5 and Taylor & Francis Publisher), Co-Editor of Communications for Statistical Applications and Methods (Scopus, Flagship Journal of Korean International Statistical Society and Korean Statistical Society).

Jong-Min Kim is General Director (2023-2024) and Board Member (2023-2028) of Korean International Statistical Society , Council of Chapter Representatives (2021-2025) American Statistical Association-Twin Cities Chapter, and Statistics Discipline Coordinator, University of Minnesota at Morris.
Jong-Min Kim is also a member of the American Statistical Association, the Financial Management Association, the American Economic Association, and the Korea America Finance Association. He is Elected Member, International Statistical Institute (ISI), October 2005.
His research involves Statistical Genetics, Quality Control, Financial Time Series Analysis, Survey Sampling, Cluster Analysis, AI and Big Data Analytics, Text Mining for Patent Data, Copula Directional Dependence, fMRI Data Analysis, Cryptocurrency Data Analysis and Functional Data Analysis. So he has published more than 170 refereed journal papers and Books in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Neuroscience, Quality Control, Engineering, Economics and Finance. He supervised many undergraduate students' projects and PhD theses.
