Webquest for webquests

To develop a good webquest you must choose an appropriate topic, decide how students will be assessed or evaluated, and then plan activities that are appropriate to that assessment.  Finally, you will need to place all of this information into a document or web page.

If you have less experience with technology, you can use MS Word or another word processing program and type up your webquest, inserting hyperlinks to the web sites that you will use.  More advanced tech users can author their own web pages and publish them.

By the end of the project you should have accomplished the following:

             1.  Choose a grade level, subject area, and topic for the webquest.

             2.  Decide what problem students should solve, what engaging task they                              should   undertake, or what question(s) they should answer.

             3.  Create a project or assessment by which students will demonstrate what                           they have learned.

             4.  Create a rubric or some tool for evaluating the students’ performance.

             5.  Find web sites with supporting information or help for students in                                      accomplishing their project.  Evaluate the web sites to ensure that                             they are appropriate to the students and project and that they are                              reliable and of good quality.

             6.  Create a document or web page that guides students through your                                  webquest.
