Webquest for webquests |
To develop a good webquest you must choose an appropriate topic, decide how students will be assessed or evaluated, and then plan activities that are appropriate to that assessment. Finally, you will need to place all of this information into a web page. You can author your own web pages and publish them (via Google Sites or some other hosting tool) or I highly recommend using an online webquest tool such as zunal. By the end of the project you should have accomplished the following: 1. Choose a grade level, subject area, and topic for the webquest. 2. Decide what problem students should solve, what engaging task they should undertake, or what question(s) they should answer. 3. Create a project or performance assessment by which students will demonstrate what they have learned—the more authentic, the better. 4. Create an assessment tool (rubric, etc.) to evaluate the project. 5. Find web sites with supporting information or help for students in accomplishing their project. Evaluate the web sites to ensure that they are appropriate to the students and project and that they are reliable and of good quality. 6. Create a web page that guides students through your webquest. |
