The movie “An
Inconvenient Truth” by Al Gore is showing in the Morris Movie Theater. Tomorrow
will be the last day for this movie which is a great fit for our discussions.

I have tickets at a special price (from our FYS budget)
for Thursday, September 28. Please let me know as soon as possible whether you
will be there at 7 pm to watch the movie – sponsored by UMM. There will be a
15-point extra-credit for anybody who turns in a half-to-one page reflection on
the movie by Tuesday.
I will ask in
class tomorrow who will be there so the ticket issue can be finalized.

professor Keith Brugger is specializing in Paleoclimate as derived from the
observation of prehistoric glaciers. He offered to speak to our class possibly
on October 12. Are you interested? Please let me know.

We need drivers
for the 15-passenger Vans for the trip to the WROC weather station next
Tuesday. Driver training is taking place on Thursday, September 21, from 4 to 6
pm in the Science Auditorium. If you take this training, you will be permitted
to drive the multi=passenger vehicles of UMM for all your time at UMM, which
sometimes comes in handy. Please let me know if you would be willing to help
out with driving next Tuesday. Thanks.
